Mark your calendars! On Saturday 25 October, from 1 pm to 6 pm, Nicholson Street Public School once again transforms into the Inner West’s ultimate Halloween playground.
For over 30 years this much-loved festival has been thrilling families, and this year promises the biggest chills yet! You can save 15% by pre-purchasing tokens online to use for food, drinks, games, and attractions on the day.
Dare to enter the Grosser Haunted House, get lost in the Maze of Madness, explore the magical Wizarding World, or plunge down the giant Atomic Drop inflatable slide. Test your aim at target games, craft creepy creations, spin the London Hotel Wheel of Fortune, or take home one of our legendary tombola jars. The fun continues with spooky makeovers from the Beastly Beauties, the Aussie Dunk Tank, the Cursed Kitchen, Cake Walk, Costume Contests and special guest Casey Burgess (Hi-5) leading sing-alongs. With thrills, laughs, and surprises around every corner, this is one Halloween afternoon you won’t want to miss.

How do i get to Nicholson Street Public School Balmain East?
Bus number 442 from QVB Sydney to Balmain East Ferry Wharf run a regular service on the weekends. To check the 442 bus timetable visit Transport NSW. Ferries also directly run to Balmain East Ferry Wharf, followed by a five minute walk up to the school, visit Transport NSW to check the ferry services available. There is limited timed on-street parking available near the event. There is no light rail or train service directly to Balmain East.
WHAT ARE TOKENS?
Tokens are used pay for attractions, games, food and drink on the day of the event. No cash is accepted at the event. You may purchase tokens on the day at the Token Booth located near the entrance of the festival or pre-purchase them at a discounted price up until the day before the event here. To enjoy the fun, most activities are 2-4 tokens. For example:

CAN TOKENS BE PURCHASED ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT?
Yes. Tokens will be available to purchase at full price on the day of The Nicho Halloween Festival.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF PURCHASING TOKENS BEFORE THE EVENT?
If you choose to pre-purchase your tokens to redeem at the event, you can save 15% on the full price of the tokens. There are four packs to choose from starting from a pack of 25 tokens.
HOW DO I COLLECT PRE-PURCHASED TOKENS?
Pre-purchased tokens will be available for collection at the festival on 25th October from the Token Booth located near the entrance of the festival on the day. Please bring along your emailed ticket as proof of purchase. Refunds are only available if the festival is cancelled. Tickets are not redeemable for cash.
DOES THE FESTIVAL ACCEPT CASH ON THE DAY?
Yes. The Nicho Halloween Festival accepts cash to purchase Tokens from the Token Booth, as well as the food and drink stands . EFTPOS machines are available to make purchases on the day at the Token Booth, food and drink stands.
IS THE VENUE EASILY ACCESSIBLE?
Yes. The festival is an accessible event. There are however a small number of attractions accessible via stairs. All visitors to the festival can grab a map of festival attractions and amenities on the day, or download your copy of the Festival Map here now!
HOW WILL I KNOW THE FESTIVAL IS CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER?
The Nicho Halloween Festival is an all-weather event and has run every year (except Covid) for 36 years. In the unlikely event of cancellation we will post a message here and on the official school Facebook page.
